Hi,

it is indeed a very interesting idea that screws a bit the SM army book. But
I must say that I like it very much.

In this way (always referring to "traditional" chapters, those who follow
the codex astartes to the last sentence), the amount of dev and assault
detachments can be limited to three each (or fielding the complete
corresponding company), since battle company dev and assault detachments are
more limited and cannot be fielded separately. Another option is allowing 4
stand detachment support cards (2/3 of the cost of an usual detachment). I
still prefer to force the fielding of entire battle companies and allow only
to field separate detachments of specialist companies.

The only modification I would add is to limit the tactical detachments to 5
models each, to be consistent with the 18+1 stand standard SM company size.

I feel that this change would bring more balanced SM armies.

As for the veteran company I think is ok as it is. It is more "marine" to
field an entire detachment with terminatour armour or power armour. Mixing
both is a bit "orky" IMHO.

Albert
