For filling out your Ethereal/Tau Commander stands. In 40K the only units
that can use Shield Drones are characters. They do not form units on their
own and so there is no reason to make up Shield Drone units.

Yeah, that model might work. Any model you can think to use that would fit
with the idea of the Swordfish is perfect. I have made one in 40K out of a
Star Wars Episode 1 Droid Tank. That's where I got the idea from.

I don't think so. Drifting units don't really fit with the Tau
theme. They are like the Eldar in that they have specialised Infantry with
fast skimmers. A slow drifter doesn't really work IMHO.
