Eldar Book

Well, now that the flames of Chaos are dying away it's time to start anew. Eldar! Yes, the time has come for the ever debated Wind Rider Host debate!

But seriously folks, please take a look at the Eldar book and let me know what you think. I've been looking it over and have noticed the following things that will probably raise some hackles.

1) The Craftworlds are codex armies. You can't get any of the special units (Alaitoc Pathfinders, etc) without running that craftworld. You can take a second craftworld as an ally if you want, and can mix & match Support cards between companies.

IMHO this is a similar division to the Chaos Powers. Each one has specialized units that can be consitered unbalancing, but is balanced by the fact that you can't take all of them.

2) The Wind Rider Host (WRH) is a Saim-Hann card. You have to run Saim-Hann if you want it. Everyone else has to use the Jetbike Host, a smaller and more accurately priced company. Keep in mind that you can run two craftworlds, so that no matter which one you run you can always take the WRH.

3) The Tempest, Spirit and Phantom Host cards are available to all craftworlds, but not the Standard Eldar List. This is mostly a fluff issue, as I don't believe that the Eldar would loan out their rare and/or heavy units to anyone.

That's a start, and I'm sure that folks will find others. Let the flames begin!
