I like this. There
to hits should be VERY good. At least 4+. But their
CAF's should be capped. +4 sounds good.
I agree. Tau are terrible in CC. Their only respectable units
are Battlesuits and they can barely hold their own against vanilla
Assault Marines in 40K (they will usually wind up losing as they are
outnumbered). They should rock at the shooting and suck at the
bashing. A Tau player who is using Tau units to assault is either
crazy or desperate.
I'd like to add a couple of new units based on the new Tau Empire book
and the current version of the Tau E:A list. I'll have details
soon.
On another note, if
"defensive fire" is desired. Why not just give
infantry a "free" fire action versus units that engage them in
close
combat? It simulates their ability and no pesky
rerolls.
I'm not keen on this. Units on First Fire can already fire
defensively at their attackers and to introduce new rules would just
complicate things. Tau who expect to be assaulted should either A-
go on First Fire and hope they hit or B- plant their head between their
legs and kiss their behind goodbye.
I like the Tau list the way it stands without the Defensive Fire and with
lower CAFs.
