Inquisitor Titan

Hello,

I would appreciate your feedback on a new Titan, the Inquisitor
Titan.

A friend of mine came up with this idea of an Inquisitor Titan, and
I thought it was a good idea. I made some changes to his original
design and I think we have come up with something cool. Please let
me know what you all think and when we have finished making changes,
I will post this file on the board.

As someone who plays both Imperial and Chaos forces, I think we have
come up with something that is fairly balanced and not too cheesy.
Plus we have come up with something that fulfills my desire of
rolling a lot of dice and causing a great deal of carnage - pretty
much my goal every game. :)

I look forward to your comments.

Inquisitor Titan

CLASS:
-Inquisitor Titans are limited to Reaver/Warlord class Titans

STATS:
-Same basic stats as Reaver/Warlord class Titan for any version of
Epic with notable exception to weapon hardpoint restrictions and
special abilities as described below.

WEAPONS:
-Inquisitor Titans MUST carry a Warp Missile.
This reflects the unusual and unique weaponry often deployed
by the Inquisition, particularly useful versus daemonic minions and
heretical Titans!
- Inquisitor Titans MUST be fitted with a Corvus Assault Pod or Head.
This Corvus Assault Pod or Head comes equipped with 4 "FREE"
stands of Grey Knight Terminators (upgrade reflected in higher
individual Titan points cost).
The Grey Knights may teleport from the Corvus equipment
(Same scatter rules apply as regular teleport from orbit).
-Mandatory Corvus equipment imposes Reaver/Warlord class restriction
(Imperator Titans are too rare even for the inquisition to obtain!)
-Remaining weapon hardpoints may be fitted with any other weapon
combination as allowed by class.

SPECIAL ABILITIES:
-The Inquisitor Titan has the same inherent abilities as the
individual Inquisitor model with notable additions as described
below due to being a Titan!

-The Inquisitor Titan is immune to the morale effects of being
charged by both Greater and Lesser Chaos Demons.

-If attacked by a psychic power the Inquisitor Titan has a Psychic
Save of 4, 5 or 6 on a D6 to represent its' psychic resilience (see
pg 19 Armies of the Imperium).

• Due to the extreme psychic forces imparted in these Titans,
the Inquisitor Titan has the power to negate the use of one Chaos
Card played every turn! There are three restrictions on this power,
however.
1. This effect can only be used on cards played on Chaos forces
in a given turn - i.e. if a Chaos player doesn't use a card in a
given turn, you can't go into the deck of cards he has and take one
out. That would be cheesy.
2. This effect does not work on Chaos Reward cards - these are
cards specific to a god, like Blood Rage of Khorne.
3. This effect cannot work on Chaos Cards being used to protect
Demons who fail their saves, unless it is being directly
attacked/engaged by the Inquisitor Titan. Without these
restrictions, this power could get too cheesy.

- The Inquisitor Titans mere presence and dramatic size inspire
courage and heroism and any Imperial Units within 50 cm will
automatically pass moral checks required of them --even if charged
by Daemons!

-The true purpose of the Inquisitor Titan is to confront heretical
Titans, Knights and Demons; hence the Inquisitor Titan gains an
extra D6 in close combat facing opposing Titans/Knights and
nullifies the +1 to hit advantage that Khorne Demon engines get when
Chaos is winning, however the +1 save and the +1D CAF rules still
stay in effect. Any other allied units within the 50cm halo of the
Inquisitor Titan are also subject to this effect, even when Chaos is
winning.

-The Inquisitor Titan may only be used against Chaos or Eldar
forces. An Inquisitor Titan can be used in a joint Imperial/Eldar
force as well.

-Only One Inquisitor Titan is allowed in your Imperial forces. This
is due to the extremely unique nature of the Titan, and the fact
that it is difficult to make and obtain one of these Titans for a
given battle.

USE
The Inquisitor Titan is a special card and may be included as a
Support Card to any Titan Legion Battle group or Tech Guard company.
If no other Imperial Titan resources are available, the Inquisitor
Titan may be fielded with a Warhound Titan escort as a Titan Battle
group in it's own right (with appropriate points cost for the
Warhounds reflected of course!). The Inquisitor titan is NEVER
fielded by itself; it is too valuable a resource to the Inquisition
to send into situations where a more subtle human-sized Inquisitor
would suffice.

COST
1200 Points – This reflects the upgrade of the Grey Knight
Terminators received with the Corvus Equipment.

BACKGROUND:
-In the aftermath analysis of the Horus Heresy, it became abundantly
clear to the High Lords of Terra that something needed to be done to
address the Chaotic affliction that influenced so many of the
Imperium's precious Titan Legions to defect to the Cause of Horus.
Obviously even the High Priests of the Cult Mechanicus were caught
unaware that so many of their number would defect to join Horus and
his minions. In the post-apocalyptic restructuring of the Imperium's
forces, the High Lords of Terra under the Emperors Blessing, had a
select few of the most loyal Titan Precepts undergo "psychic-
conditioning" under the watchful eye of the Collegio Telepathica for
implantation into specially equipped and appropriately anointed
Inquisitor Class Titans. Their mission was to keep a watchful eye on
Titan Legion assets encountering Chaos forces. It was determined
that while mere individual Inquisitors may be more successful in
rooting out potential Chaos threats before they became manifest,
that far too many of the Traitor Titan forces had survived in the
hasty Post-Heresy retreat to the Eye of Terror and that a more
substantial platform may be needed to support loyal Titans when
facing such Chaos threats as the twisted and demonic Traitor Titan
Legions, the Banelord Titan, the Abominatus Imperator Titans, as
well as the Demonic Titans Skylock (that evil and magical Death
Dealer from the skies), Bubonis (the bloated Pusbag of Disease and
Filth), and the rare and elusive perversity that is Phlintfalus,
Lord of Sexual Deviance.

SUGGESTED WEAPONS
-Warp Missile – Mandatory as mentioned above
-Corvus Assault Pod or Head – Mandatory as mentioned above
-Gatling Blaster
-Volcano Cannon

These 4 together will make for a devastating Titan indeed!

OPTIONAL WEAPONS
-Custodian Head
-Devotional Bell

Note: The effects of these weapons would be additive with the rules
for the Inquisitor Titan mentioned above.

To make things simple, here are the excerpts from the Net Epic V5
Adeptus Mechanicus army book:

Custodian Head: This rare head is imbued with psychic energy capable
of lethal attacks. The titan may, in addition to other attacks,
project an ethereal psychic blast attack. Place the 6 cm template
anywhere within 25 cm and line of sight. Everything under the
template is hit on a 4+ and is destroyed with no armor save. Units
with a hit location template suffer a hit to the head / crew
compartment location with no armor save.

Devotional Bell: This rare device is an anathema to beings of Chaos
as it carries a single drop of blood of the Emperor himself! It does
not occupy a carapace weapon slot and may be fitted in excess of the
titans' normal weapons complement, as it is fitted in the mounts
normally reserved for banners. This weapon can only be used if the
enemy is Chaos, and provides a +1 to all Imperial morale checks
within 25 cm.

Optional Devotional Bell Effect: In addition to the effect above,
Greater Daemons may not use Chaos Reward
Cards to negate wounds within if they are within 25 cm of the bell.

While the Devotional Bell might be redundant, given the morale
effect of the Inquisitor Titan, this titan would be the perfect one
to use this weapon (as I have never seen them used). Plus, this
could serve as a backup if more than one morale check was needed.

Suggested additive effect by the authors:
The Devotional Bell extends the 50 cm morale halo to 75 cm and does
not require LOS.
