Hepp,

I also agree that we should keep the necron name for both army lists. Fluffvise there is a lot of possibilities here... One could be as follows...

Several millenina ago, Slann explorers discovered the remains of an ancient Slann civilasation on an abandonned planet in a far corner of the galaxy. Early research indicatet that this once must have been one of the largest Slann colonies of it's time. Perhaps even one of the largest Slann societies ever to exist. Yet no record of this civilisation was found in any of the Slann Archives. Something wich puzzeled Slann scolars. There should have been extensive records about a civilication this size. It was as if someone had gone to greath lenghts to erase all information about this civilisation. Intriuged, the Slann decided to do an extencive archeological study of the abandonned planet. A great number of Slann Archeologists, Scolars and countless numbers of necron worker drones was sendt to the mystical planet in order to gain knowledge about this lost civilisation.

Slowly the Slann started excavating the ruins and piecing together information about the anicent civilication. After a couple of years the stumeled across what once must have been the great temple of the old ones. Studies of the temple and the adjacent area mystified the Slann further. It seemed that this ancient civilistion followed a religion quite unlike any known to the Slann. The priests of this civilisation worshipped some gods known as the C'tan. Fearing that this was in fact a Chaos cult, the Slann appointet a special group of experienced Slann priests to study this religion with caution. The Priests found no Chaos taint, however they discovered a brutal cultus similar to that of chaos worshippers. However it seemed as if the planets society abruptly siezed to excist.

Then horror struck. During excavation of the lower levels of the great temple a great portal was found. This portal lead the archologists to a wast necropolis extending to the far corners of the planet. The necroplis was filled with ancien machinery and mystical technologi. During exploration of the necropolis, Scolars and large numbers of necron drones started dissapearing mysteriously. Finally the Slann priests leading the exploration stumbeled acros a great crypt in the center of the great undercity. This was the last that was ever heard from the explorers of the ancient planet.

or something like that....

Nils

I think that's it's a good idea to leave athe two armies with the
necron name. And maybe in the future we can explain (with a campaign
or whatever) what was they do the slann with their necrons and why
the C'tan have necrons too. The slann take the C'tan tecnology ? or a
Slann or Necronlord was corrupted by C'tan? I don't have any idea my
god is the emperor and all the xenos will be crushed in the emperor's
name!!! (that's the idea)

keep the threat open until we have any idea. no?

cheers bans
