[NetEpic ML] Re: Eldar holofield cheese?

Ah, tried the method of changing sides and end results are not good for
Eldars, Barrages are too easy way to eliminate the Eldar Titans. Actually
managed often to waste a titan or even two in the first turn, maybe it was
partly luck with the dice but the -1 modifier on missiles was nasty.

Checking the notes afterwards, it seemed to me that Eldar titan killing is
relatively easy if you plan to fight against them. What if barrages against
holofields are treated as normal attack? Holofield save would move the
barrage just out of touching the Titan if successful but otherwise as
successful attack?

I am not quite sure how it has been written but the holofield is more than
just visual illusion, it is electromagnetic field also, fields of that type
should be able to distort the rangefinders and other equipment used to
coordinate the barrage attacks just that little.

another thing to handle the trouble with barrages would require more work,
I have tried a template of 18 cm in width which represents the area of
"possible" holofield shielded unit. The tabletop unit is just the center of
the area. Player have a duplicate of it in hiding with exact unit location
marked and should barrage land so it touches the unit, then the holofield
did not work. Requires extra work but was closest thing I managed to
created for the "Deadly barrage" dilemma.
