Id like the follow up to be made in any direction to allow capturing
ground.
But I would agree that advances into close combat should be limited to
the
assaulted units

-->Might want to take a look at the Warmaster rules for this. It's for
fantasy, but the idea still works. I'll exerpt it later to show what I
mean.
