No. Please no. The Tech Guard are an independant force list and I for one
would like to see them stay that way. They have a very unique character
that I would be sorry to lose (if not just for the fact that I have a TG
army but no IG force). The TG are, as you say, a support force for the
Titans they lovingly build and maintain. The units they field reflect
this. The Titan Defence companies are used to provide infantry support to
the Titans, the Tech Assault Companies to provide highly mobile assault
support, the Stormblades used as anti-Titan/armour units to enter built-up
areas and knock out enemy armour (the Titans are more than capable of
taking down armour in the open). The Knights form the mobile armour of the
army (albeit EXPENSIVE mobile armour) as well as some limited fire-support
while the almighty Titans form the core of the force. This is in stark
contrast to the IG formations of large columns of infantry, tanks and
artillery backed up by the odd Titan or two.

Sure the the TG may keep the odd Shadowsword or Stormhammer to "field test"
but that would be all. They wouldn't use them themselves as 1: they must
send all they can to keep up with the demands of the Imperial Guard (the
Stormbaldes are used by the TG as they are ideal for short-range support
for Titans in built up areas and the TG can cope with the high maintenance
demands) and 2: they don't NEED them! The Titans and Knights they field
more than adequately (from the TG's point of view) fulfill the roles they
need nicely, why bother with superheavy tanks? They can't keep up with the
Titans and Knights when they are on the move.

No. I like the idea of keeping the TG as a seperate list. It give the
Imperial forces a bit of variety that they need.
