AS some of you know I work as a freelancer for FASA Corporation on
Shadowrun and Battletech. So I'll give you all a bit of info as to
what is going on.
http://www.dumpshock.com/FASA-FAQ.html
Thats the best source of info at the moment since we are making sure
its as updated.
I'd love to talk about the projects that were in the works right up
until the 25th (even the staff had no idea what was happening) but
we'll see how it plays out over the next few weeks. Surprisingly
NetEpic had an impact on some of these, if just indirectly ;)
FASA is paying the freelancers and maintinaing the contracts for ALL
works up to the present (this includes Target: Wastelands for you
Shadowrun players). Thus there will NOT be a repeat of the LAst
Unicorn Games fiasco where the rights reverted back to the authors on
unpublished material. Also FASA Corporation WILL STAY AROUND. Its not
going out of business per se, and its not filing for Bankruptcy. The
parts of the company dealing with licenses (like Earthdawn) will
remain.
If you hear anyone spreading wierd bullshit that does not follow what
you see on the FAQ feel free to say that you heard from someone who
talks with people that work there directly they are full of shit. IF
its not on the FAQ its bullshit rumor at this point. If they claim
otherwise then they are truly full of shit, even the people at FASA
don't know any more then what you see on the FAQ.
Hope this addresses some concerns.
Lates!
