RE: [NetEpic ML] Titan CC

Hi,

I while back, someone posted a question in where a necron raider had been
hit by the beam of power. I'm almost certain that we at the end of the
discussion agreed that due to the nature of the beam of power, the necron
repair wouldn't function.... Since the Necron Titan is "shielded" by a
repair roll of 3+ (I think this should be 4+ like all necron repair rolls)
this shield would not protect the Necron titan against the beam of power....
However, It would still get the benefit of both an armour save and the
regular titan repair roll (which would be 3+ like all slann Titans) in the
end fase.... Hmmm I suddenly realised that Rune forgot to check this in our
last game.

Hi!

First of all, the necron titan has no shields so I assume you are
referring to it self-repair ability. The self-repair cannot be bypassed
by any poer/rule I am aware of. So after you get hit and determine hit
location, it would get its self repair. The bottom line is this IS its
defense against some weapons since they negate his armor save. So on a
3+ you ignore the beam of power. Most armies have at least one weapons
like this. During my game with Darius his squat cyclops weapon acted
like a "beam of power", my only defense was its self repair and that was
at 4+, but still made it. A 3+ fixed repair roll goes a long way against
this.

My curiousity is why it was rules that you were not entitled to a repair
save? Whats the rational? Nothing it epic negates repair/regeneration,
besides close combat.
