THE EPIC QUESTION OF THE MONTH - June/July

Every month or so we put up a question on the Epic website which we would
like you to answer. There are two ways for you to let us know how you feel;
you can click on the buttons below, or you can <email us> with a longer and
more detailed reply if you prefer.

NEW ARMIES FOR EPIC 40,000

A question we are often asked is if we plan to make any new armies for Epic
40,000.
The short answer to this is yes, we do plan to do new armies for Epic
40,000, the two top contenders being the Dark Eldar and the Tau. However,
the size of the Fanatic operation means we will not be able to make the
infantry for these armies in plastic, as it would be waaay to expensive to
make the moulds.

This means that we are going to have to develop a new method of making Epic
scale infantry available in metal at an affordable price. This is not as
easy as it might sound; Epic scale models are difficult to cast at the best
of times, let along when you are trying to cast infantry rather than
vehicles.

We're considering a number of options right now (one of which is to see if
Forge World could make infantry stands in resin), but it is going to take a
while before we have found out the best way to solve this problem. Because
of this we're not likely to make a new army for Epic until late 2002 or even
2003.

Until then we'll continue making new vehicles and war machines for existing
armies, so there will still be new stuff for Epic players to get excited
about, but a new race is at least a year and half away yet.
This said, we will get round to making new Epic 40,000 armies in the end,
and wed like you to help us pick which one. So the Epic question of the
month is:

"Which new army should we do for Epic 40,000 first, the Dark Eldar or the
Tau Empire?"
