Sort of both. It is mostly the original film, but with added effects. Things
like extra alien beasties, scenes that didn't make the original, etc.
Supposedly cost $10 million US to doctor the movie and add 4.5 minutes of
new material. For instance, Jabba the Hut is now in Star Wars _and_ Return
of the Jedi.
