Making sure I have this right:

Guardians
M=15 FP=2 R=15 AF=1 AV=3

(15/10 + 2*(15/15)+1*2 *3/3)
(1.5 + 2 + 2) * 1
5.5?

I'd think about fielding them at 6 points each, I suppose. Right now
I want to make my other units work in battle before trying to water
them down with Guardians.

I'm not sure I understand the formula. Where do you subtract 2 from
the AV?

Also, how do you get each point of assault adding from 2 to 4 points
to the cost, depending on armor? I thought the Space Wolves ability
cost 1. Does this make my Dreadnaughts far more than 28 points?

Dreads (from memory)
M=20 FP=2 R=45 AF=4 AV=6 (don't remember) 28 points
(20/10 + 2*(45/15)+4*2)*6/3
(2+6+8)*2
32

Beastmen (from memory)
M=10 FP=0 AF=2 AV=4
(10/10 + 0 + 2*2)*4/3
(1+4)*1.33
5*1.33
6.66

Okay, not too bad, I guess. But it seems that you're valuing Assault
over Firepower, more than the given points values seem to suggest.
Perhaps a 1.5 multiplier on Assault instead of 2, and Firepower should
be FP*(R+15)/15

So:

PV = ((M/10) + (FP*(R+15)/15) + (AF*1.5))*(AF/3)

This would make the Boyz
(10/10+(1*45/15) + (2*1.5)) * (4/3)
(1+3+3)*4/3
same as before

But my Guardians would be
(15/10+(2*30/15)+1*1.5) * 3/3
(1.5+4+1.5)
7

And my dread would be

((20/10)+(2*60/15)+(4*1.5))*(6/3)
(2+8+6)*2
32 (oh well)

Beastmen:
(10/10+(0*15/15)+(2*1.5))*(4/3)
(1+0+3)*1.33
4*1.33
5.66

Oh, nevermind, I'm just brainstorming. It's hard to check my work
when I'm at work without the books. :(
