Well, it would've helped me. ^_^;; I don't tend to think of present day
earth when I'm discussing GW's universes, they don't have much in
common. (Your point, I believe....)

Well, people have been stating all those ages, and no one had mentioned
the "information age" so I was confused. As to GW not having countries,
with all the in-fighting in the Imperium each planet is more of a
country unto itself, not an unusual situation in a space-going
culture/universe judging by the SF literature. Sometimes the front
presented to space is merely a facade, or without much power (David
Brin's Terragens Council, at least initially) or sometimes the
individual countries have all been absorbed into a single body (like
Niven's Earth in Louis Wu's time).

Well, GW has added information as they advance the timeline (30K to 40K,
for example), but several of the things people are talking about, like
when Squats were in the Imperium vs. when they weren't, seem to me to be
retroactive history GW added to cover the changes it made in the rules.
