Take another look at page 48. To damage a flier, you must match or
exceed the armor value once. To shoot it down, match or exceed the
armor value twice. So, to shoot down a thunderhawk, you need to roll a
six to damage it and then another six to destroy it. To shoot down a
gargoyle, you need only two threes.
