Re: [Epic] Game Mechanics

Do you normally show your opponent your order of battle or just agree on
points totals?
We usually use the fog of war rule ( yes it works for we Heretical
Epic2nds too! ) We discuss rule changes or variations prior to gaming,
while setting up and we often discuss rules for items we will not be using
to confuse the other player as to your force make up.We do not consider
this cheating as it is a general club standard method. We also have two
tables with curtains across the middle for hidden set up games.
A recent game set up required an absent commander ( who was playing a
totally unrelated board game with the other side commander ) And each
player to maneuver his forces on a separate 24"x24" terrain board until the
umpire declared where he had appeared on the table in relation to the main
battle. The result was very mutch a great game as each new arrival tended
to out flank or appear in the rear of the previous one. The main ford river
crossing that was the center of the battle had each sides forces layered
around it with the majority of eather side in-between the other.
This is not a criticism of any one or anything, just game mechanics.
