I'm not agreeing with either side but would like to point out something.
E40K was designed to be an extrapolation of WH40K not just a new version of SM/TL

Okay, so I'm young, but at least I can do math! Did you stop
to check the stats before seeing how much more powerful LRs are in
this version of Epic?
Open Terrain:
Falcon:
1 4+ shot = .5 penetrations
Land Raider:
2 5+ shots = .67 penetrations
If you've only got one target per LR, it becomes
(2/3)^2 = 4/9 chance of missing, or 5/9 chance of hitting
=.55 chance of at least 1 penetration.
Light cover (rubble)
Falcon:
1 5+ shot = .33 penetrations
Land Raider:
2 6+ shots = .33 penetrations
If you've only got one target per LR, it's
(5/6)^2 = 25/36 chance of missing, or 11/36 chance of hitting
=.305 chance of at least 1 penetration
I'd call them about equal in firepower, with a slight edge going to
the Land Raider. It's why I won't contest a 3FP statistic. But
you've got to be kidding me if you think that a Land Raider is twice
as powerful.
