In several cases, that isn't cheese so much as it is, say, 20000 points
vs. 2000 points. (I'm thinking Desert Storm here in particular. Okay,
it probably wasn't that bad, but still... the point is to have fun with
these games, how much fun do you think Iraq was having?)

Hmm, dunno about that. To me, cheese would be ignoring any plausible
background to take advantage of inexpensive/overpowering units in one's
army list. For example, taking a Marine tanks force, with no infantry
along. (Yeah, the LR is great, *especially* for the points. But the
Marines don't operate that way!) The Phantom BG, all with pulsars &
laswings, was a borderline example; the other weapons exist for a
reason, y'know. (Yeah, I know, it's harder to use them. So figure
something out, think about it a while. A Titan doesn't exist in a
vacuum. Besides, in the BG, the one *without* twin pulsars would
probably last longer....)
