another good idea:
hit up your medical (or druggie) friends for a set of curved forceps,
or a set of skin type pick-ups (fancy tweezers).
they both work similar to the needle nosers, but have a nice curve to help
snap the fig into the base, and help prevent the occassional "grip too
tight and break him off at the legs" routine...
