[Epic] Imperial Flyers and Painting

Having just watched a crazy movie on the weekend called 'Tank Girl' I was
deeplly struck with the look of the jet they repainted and was looking at
doing up one of my future flyers in the same look. It was black and red but
the red looked more to be the overcoating and the black the underlayer...I'm
pondering just working with the Dark Angel Green I already have but was
wondering if there is a really dark dark red that I could use...almost a
dark blood red? Is there also a white skull in any other the decal sets
that are available for Epic 40K? (the one in the movie is a rather crude
looking skull as it is) Thanks for any help...I'd thought to origionally
work with the black under coat and in some spots use masking techniques to
make it work even better as it's not to easy to paint perfect circle line
bits, thought laying down the mask could be tricky too....what could I use
for masking on something that small? (ie...cover the black paint so no red
overcoating gets onto some sections to create a pattern on the hull)
