stuff, maybe the scarab emits some kind of electrical field which zaps
through the hull, shocking all the grots trying to make this stuff
work...for 'nids, maybe it's some kind of weird RF frequency which
disturbs their living devices or, better yet, puts them to sleep!
                Although I have reservations about these guys, they are
supposed to be millions of years old and pretty much be the ultimate
tech, just as the nids are the ultimate bio-form. Be interesting to see
what other equipment they get.
