I have enjoyed the threads to do with painting miniatures over the past
week.
Although I have been painting for many years I have not had a lot of
experience with painting in this scale with such detail. Usually spray
black and layer on the dry brush does the trick (not the GW Drybrush but
the heavy, powdery one).
I am aiming for a compromise between nicely finished models and getting
them done quickly enough to play the game.
If anyone has some ideas, tricks and tecniques I would surely appreciate
them.
Some points from previous threads.
a) A good source of matt spray yellow (and any color for that metter) is
automobile sprays. To be avoided are model sprays specifically for
plastic kits as they repel washes.
b) Quick Orks:- spray black, drybrush white, Color (instant highlight,
detail to your own taste. This works well for red and yellow marines but
drybrush white twice.
c) Imperial Fists:- I seem to remember bone being the original color of
the Fist armour. Spray Black, Bone drybrush, Yellow wash, red details.
