If you are playing Epic 40K (newest one) detachments can't support each
other (except war machines which are allowed to). Putting your helhounds in
a seperate detachment would mean that in a close combat situation in which
none of the hellhounds where assaulted they could not add thier firepower to
the CC. They could not even add +1 either.
