You are confused by the terminology. In the marine detcahment you can have
1-3 bike units per Squadron (formations of bike units). Each unit has 2 or
3 (depending on how you model it) bikes on it's base. When the unit is
hit, it is destroyed unless it has a save, if this unit is part of a
squadron, then the squadron will lose one unit (as opposed to the unit
losing one bike which is what confused you)
