In Epic 40K, the Eldar come down to three things: Movement, Movement and
Movement. Their troops are fragile and short-ranged for the most, so use
Falcons and Wave Serpents to zoom them in for a turn (or two at the
most) of combat or firefighting, then marching 75cm away in the next
movement phase. Jetbikes and Vypers are fantastic for hiding behind
hills etc. on assault orders, then zooming over in the assault phase to
firefight your opponent to death; alternatively, use them to amass 24+
firepower in the shooting phase to put on some blast markers. Your
Nightwings are the best interceptors in the game; use them to protect
your Phoenix Bombers and Vampire Raiders (if you have any). You must
NOT, at ANY COST, be bogged down in a prolonged shooting match- whoever
your enemy is, they can take more casualties than you. The same applies
to close combat- if the enemy strike troops are approaching your
artillery-slaughtering position, pull out ASAP, unless you want them
killed.
Sample detachments:
10 jetbikes and 5 vypers
Avatar and 4 dreadnoughts
Dark Reapers in Falcons with Night Spinners in support
Harlequins in Wave Serpents (a personal favourite of mine)
How's that?
PS: Francois: Could you get your friends to sell as many world cup
tickets as possible? The more football fans out of this country, the
better. :)
