Never claimed they just sat and shot. Everyone moves 4" forwards and shoots who was
built for it, otherwise they charge. It still looks like the shootout at the OK
corral. Everyone at the 12" line for set up, unless they have long range/indirect fire.
First player moves, kills a bunch. Second player moves, kills a bunch.
While I've only played 4 games, thats more than I wanted to. I've been watching them
for 3 years, nearly every weekend. The game is designed for a 14 year old's patience
level. I have seen a few players who do try to manuever seriously, but that's maybe 10%
of the total 50 or 60 players I know. Of that group who have tried warzone, they liked
warzone's tactics better. Shame that no one plays much Warzone.
Most of 40K players say that ~1/3 of the battle in army selection. 1/3 is deployment.
the rest is tactics.
Since the original post asks what an E40K (actually, sm/tl) player is going to get out
of WH40K, I thought it important to say that the main benefit will be more players to
play against. I doubt Agro will enjoy the tactics/ lack thereof much.
I like WolfSamurai's suggetions for the game, though a 6X6 table may be hard to come by
in many locations. I think playing with the turn sequence would likely make the game
better; if I'm every inspired to finish my bugs, I hope to try a few ideas out.
