Alan's point formula works pretty good, actually, at least
on the marine and guard units. It breaks down when it comes to
"close combat" units like daemons - GW seems to have given those
units a rather nice price break. You're not going to get exact
matches to the values in the books, of course, but you end up with
results that are close enough.
