Yeah, the Telephoto would work, you just have to be carefull and don't drop under the minimum
focus distance.

The whole problem with taking shots of miniatures, and why WD used to whine about it so much,
is that to shot something small like a miniature, you use a highpowered lense. The problem
with highpowered lenses is they automatically have a short depth of field.
What else causes bad depth of field, well, the closer your subject is, the shorter the depth
of field.

This makes things in the background and foreground blurry. If you are using a manual make
sure you use extremely bright lights, like burn your retinas out bright, that way you can use
a small f.stop, like 16, which will increase your depth of field IIRC.
