Acording to the HH fluff, there were three loyal primarchs on Earth when uncle
Horus came home. Jaghati Khan (White Scars), Rogal Dorn (Imperial Fists), and
Sanguinius (Blood Angels). Khan was outside the palace, so didn't figure into
the final battle. Sanguinius and Dorn were holding the palace, while the
Emperor tried to figure out what to do. Sanguinius held the one gate to the
inner palace until the defenders had retreated. When the time came, Horus
dropped the shileds on his BARGE, and the Emperor took the bait. Dorn,
Sanguinius, the ACs, and Imp Fist Trermies teleported to the BARGE with the
Emperor. The warped nature of the BARGE caused the assault group to become
scattered. Sanguinius found Horus first, then was tempted by Horus. When
Sanguinius refused the offer, Horus said "Oh well." and had chicken-wings for
supper. Then our beloved Emperor arrives, and begins the end game battle with
the traitor. attle rages, until an Imp Fist termie shows up, and lets fly
with his storm bolter, distracting Horus for all of 5 seconds. This allows
the Emperor to assemble strength for a final blow that destroys the traitor.
Dorn arives, and takes the dying Emperor in his arms back to Earth. This is
easy because with the death of the warmaster, much of the warping of the barge
is gone, along with most of the demonic types.

his all encompassing history of the Imperium)
