Well, everybody has made up house rules to change the way you roll for
casualties in assaults, but nobody has made up rules for removing stands
that are in base to base contact. Roll for casualties as per the E40K
rulebook, i.e. a big mass of dice with misses thrown out. One rule could be
that you _must_ remove one cheapest model before you remove any other model.
For example, let's say I have 3 grotz, 2 boys, and 1 wagon in base to base
with a bunch of marines. The marines win, and cause 3 hits. The first has
to be a grot, the second can be whatever the marine player wants, and the
last has to be a grot. If the marines got four hits, they could apply the
fourth to whatever model in b2b they want.

If you run out of the cheapest available model and still have hits to apply,
the next cheapest becomes the fixed point.

Of course, you could vary the amount of cheapies that must die before a big
guy falls, i.e. two of the cheapest models must go before every other more
expensive one.
