Do you mean before you remove each other model? I first read this that one
grot would have to go away, then you could select freely, but your example
reads that you have to remove a grot for every non-grot.

I don't know whether I feel a need for this, but an alternative that
wouldn't require looking up the point values would be to alternate selecting
minis to be destroyed, starting with the player of the minis being removed.
Above, the Ork player would choose first, then the Marine.
