[Epic] Flak vests and newtech

Less, much less.

The new style combat armor soon to see service (at least in the Corps) is
pretty bulky but not TOO heavy unless you start putting in the ceramic armor
plates.

Main problem with flak vests/body armor? Hot as HELL. Plus in the future
where every soldier carries around minicomputer, GPS receiver, and a
smartlink there are all sorts of wires and stuff running around. These wires
get tangled, shot up, or broken as the soldier moves around.

But, amusingly enough, in the tests they have done, the biggest problem with
all this newtech stuff is the damn batteries run out too fast. Which makes
me wonder, how long does the power supply on a SM powersuit last?
