[Epic] New here - News on Epic 40k?

Hi all,

I'm new to this list and to Space Marine/Epic in general. I've played one
or two games in my time, but mostly have stuck with the tactical scale
games. Recently I've decided that epic scale is where it's at, but I need
some advice getting into it since funds are tight.

What do you all think of the new Epic 40k? I've had some trouble finding
information on it and I'd appreciate the opinions of those of you who own
it.

I generally seem drawn towards Space Marines and Eldar - how many space
marines are in the box, and what would be the best way to go about
expanding them? I'd like to be competitive in my army options, but I feel
flavor/fun is most important. Also, if I were to buy some of the Eldar
stuff (war host box, etc.) how much would I need to field a force matching
the Space Marine and Ork forces that come with the game?

Finally, which army has the best air force? I'm kind of an air assault/air
superiority kind of guy.
