Ian Watson's books (the Inquisition trilogy) are:
* Inquisitor
* Harliquin
* Chaos Child

There is also 'Space Marine', which (I think) follows the story of a
young hiver who gets "drafted" into a chapter, and then 'Deathwing', an
anthology.
