<snip>
Lets run the math on that one...
First the Scorpion.
The EoV gets 1D6 A/T. That's 3.5 A/T shots, which is 1.75 hits vs a
target with 8 damage points. The AMO fires back. The EoV dies.
Assuming that you have a herd of EoV that are trading pot shost with the
AMO, well, it takes 4.57 EoV/Turns to to toast a AMO. An AMO cost 200
points. 5 EoV cost 550 points.
Granted a really hot set of die rolls by the EoV could cut it the other
way via critical hits, but it appears that an AMO will beat up to twice
it's point value in EoVs and still come out alive.
Now if you get the Cobra EoV with in range of the AOM it goes like this:
It hits on a 2+, doing 2.8 point of damage (1 Critical hit), with a 2.7%
chance of doing no damage or blowing the AOM up. The AOM fires and the
EoV, on the average, is toast. As it so happens an AOM vs Warp Hunter(
err, I mean Cobra EoV) ratio is 3.39 EoV/Turns, but they have to get
with in 45 cm, vs an unlimited range weapon. Given a good field
postion, with good fields of fire, a AOM kills one target a turn for 6
turns.
Ok, let me summarize. The Ordinantus are still cheesy. ;)
