guy who did that and was hounded mercilessly.

Actually, I've found that the troops who really know what they are doing (be
they SEALS, marine recon, or just well-disciplined troops) don't feel any
real need to prove anything to anyone else. They know how to do their job
and don't really care what anyone else thinks.

It should be. You can train an infantry company for what is spent on those
guys in a year.
