My wife and I are supposed to play Sunday. I picked out an Eldar
and a Space Marine army yesterday, with a variety of troops on
each side. Problem is, the armies are very similar. Both have
a detachment of infantry plus a few tanks, a bike detachment, a
small Titan (still using a Battletech Marauder as a Revenant), and
a bigger tank detachment (2 Scorpions on one side, predators, Land
Raiders, and Whirlwinds on the other). I'm sure I'll branch out
after a while. I'll have to create some standard detachments with
point values pretty close to multiples of 50 and let her choose
from among those--she is definitely not going to want to pick out
the units in the detachments.

She isn't completely patronizing me--she likes to play games with
me, so I'm sure we'll play occasionally. But she's not interested
enough to make it her own hobby, like it is mine.
