[Epic] [E40k} Detachment sizes

Fought another big Imperial vs Orks battle tonight - about 2500-3000
points per side. The Imperial Guard Leman Russ Company (about 10 Leman
Russ tanks, with Hellhounds in support) went through several large Ork
detachments like a dose of salts. Time to start painting those tanks.

Meanwhile on the left flank of the Imperial Line, I had my marines
hull-down in cover in the middle of the keft-hand half of the table.
The orks tried assaulting them out - failed, then tried shooting them
out - always bound to fail. Eventually, an unstoppable gargant squashed
them, but only after they'd been suppressed to hell and back. On the
brighter side, they tied up well over twice their point in orks, and
kept them from reinforcing the crumblig Ork left.

One thing I noticed. The big ork detachments, attacking on assault
orders, were clearly never going to cause many casualties. But they
were placing bucket-loadsof blast markers on my little marine
detachments, rendering them somewhat ineffective when it wwas my turn
to shoot back.

Tactical lessons learned - keep some troops in reserve. Those fast
bikes are better off being saved to exploit a gap in the Ork lines -
charging them full pelt when they have Big Gunz on overwatch is a very
bad move ("charge the guns" someone said, 10 set out, only 2 came back -
I'm sure there's a poem or film in that). I had the last laugh though -
the two remaining bikes ran away and hid for a while, before charging
back into the fray and breaking the whole ork detachment in close combat
for no loss - caught the orks strung out in a line, clipped them on the
wing, 2 onto 1, and rolled high. The last of the bikes later had a
chance to finish off the ork garagant - but missed :(
