Dear maillist.
We have had some friendly discussions about pop-ups in my group.
What is the correct procedure for making pop-ups with vehicles (ie.
falcons)?
a.) At the start of the shooting phase declare what skimmers are poping-up,
and allow the enemy to shoot at them before they fire. Skimmers return to
ground level before warengine shooting phase.
b.) At the start of the shooting phase declare what skimmers are poping-up,
and allow the enemy to shoot at them before they fire. Skimmers return to
ground level at the end of warengine shooting phase.
c). At the start of the shooting phase declare what skimmers are poping-up,
but the enemy may not open fire before they have fired. Skimmers return to
ground level before warengine shooting phase.
d). At the start of the shooting phase declare what skimmers are poping-up,
but the enemy may not open fire before they have fired. Skimmers return to
ground level at the end of warengine shooting phase.
e.) During the shooting phase declare what skimmers from a detachment are
poping-up, resolve their shooting, and allow the enemy to retaliate for the
rest of the shooting phase, but return to ground level before warengine
shooting phase.
f.) During the shooting phase declare what skimmers from a detachment are
poping-up, resolve their shooting, and allow the enemy to retaliate for the
rest of the shooting phase including the warengine shooting phase.
Our house rule: e.
What is the correct procedure for making pop-ups with warengines (ie.
Scorpions)?
a) As in "b" above.
b) During the warengine shooting phase declare what skimmers from a
detachment are poping-up, resolve their shooting, and allow the enemy to
retaliate for the rest of the war engine shooting phase (effectively
limiting the units that can retaliate at Scorpions to enemy warengines).
Our house rule: b
