I saw the IG in action last week. The infantry died like dogs when they
advanced on march orders in the open (that was a dumb move). A sizeable
detachment of Leman Russ tanks on the other hand went through twice
their value in orks like a dose of salts. Moral - even though they may
not have the raw FP of a land raider, against infantry or lighter
vehicles who have no AT of their own, they rule. AT doesn't really help
vs infantry targets, after all, particularly when BMs are taken into
account.
Now I may not have number-crunched to arrive at this observation, but
that's the way it happened on the table.
