As to where to start, Colour of Magic is the first book, and then The
Light Fantastic. I think Sourcery was the next one to tie in with that
series. "Mort" is one of the funniest books I have ever read, but wait
until you've read one or two of the others for maximum impact. THEN
PERHAPS YOU'LL UNDERSTAND WHY THIS IS IN ALL CAPS. They really aren't a
series where the order matters, but start with those two and you get a
good intro to the world. A used bookstroe may be a good bet as well.
After reading them in paperback, I've found almost all of them in a
hardback at a 1/2 pricer, (mostly bookclub-style) format and consider
them keepers.
There's a "discworld" computer game as well (and a discworld II) and
after reading the books, if you like adventure-type games, you might
check them out. (The books help you get the jokes)
End of droolfest - sorry
