I have both versions of the rapier, both are in one piece. The earlier
version has the quad-barrels mounted above the treads, with a marine
gunner perching on the back on a little platform. The later version has
no marine, and the barrels are mounted between the treads. They are
both abouth the same length, though the barrels in the second version
are much longer and thicker. I believe that the two models roughly
correspond to the two 40k versions of the device. On the whole the
earlier one (with the marine) is more visually appealing, should you
decide to try and order them.

As for tarantulas, the ones I have are squat little monsters, each
nearly twice the height of a space marine. They're clearly tarantulas,
they have blast shields and two barrels poking out the front. But
they're really not scaled well at all, and the detail hardly matches any
of the 40k versions. I haven't seen another metal version, and much
prefer my scratch-built platforms.
