that I often felt from the old system that they were few in number and
highly specialised, rather than as a massed fighting force. I think
the Grey Knights x2 CAF ability against Daemons is a great idea (tho'
I would have to see how it balanced out in a game and wasn't too
powerful <g>)...but could more see the Grey Knights mixed in with
ordinary marines/terminators like the Exarch's, so instead you upgrade
a marine tactical or terminator unit to have 'a Grey Knight present'.
This way you can just add the cost to another detachment purely as an
upgrade and make some cool mixed bases of say 4 marines in your
standard chapter colours plus 1 Grey Knight.

The only problem I have with the "mix a few Grey Nights in with the
rest of the marines" idea is that Grey Nights are not commanders.
They are specially trained marines that fight in _squads_, unlike
Exarchs, Warlocks, Commissars etc, and ahould be feilded as such. I
suggest instead limiting their numbers in your army (see my other
post). Also, Grey Nights have even more hit and run tactics than
normal marines, so having them socialising with them on the ground
just doesn't really make sense to me. The come and go without talking
to anyone. Heck, the majority of marines probably haven't even heard
of them, they are so segregated.
