Hi!

Thats pretty good. I suspect the Slann realize the Imperium are a pain in the a** and need launching points within Imperial space to "chastize" the humans. After all look how far humans in reality have gone in 6000 years....

I can see camps forming in our background:

Humanity is against everyone, lets face it, we can't get along with ourselves imagine how we would treat non-humans. Of course that narrow view may be its undoing. Then again there may be many human factions that are not like this and chaffe under Imperial rule. Perhaps its time for another....Heresy?

Orks, against everyone by nature not choice, although I'd see them making pacts with chaos.

Chaos, of course, against everyone, although they are happy to ally with anyone until its time to turn on them.

Tyranids are the most uncompromising and perhaps the greatest short term threat, they want to feed on everything.

Eldar will ally with humans for short term goals, but they probably only really favor the slann, since they share a lot of philosophies.

Squats, I'd like some sort of rebellion for them against the Imperium, they have been shafted time and again by them. Then again the yhate Eldar and orks.

Slann, perhaps the only real unifying force, since the Eldar, Tau and even Squats can get common ground with them. I suspect if they were to ally and eliminate the tyranids the Imperium would be toast.

Just some thoughts.

In the official fluff the Tau are said to have made rapid evolutionary
leaps. The official line goes that when they were first discovered by the
Imperium the Tau were in feral state, barely able to comprehend simple
tools. The planet was to be colonised and the Tau Exterminated but the
colonisation fleet was lost in the warp. Six thousand years later the Tau
are among the most technologically advanced race in the galaxy.

This gave me an idea to bend the fluff for our purposes. The rapid
scientific progress points IMO suspiciously in the direction of Slann. We
need just say that the Slann were preparing for their comeback and made
contact with the Ethereal caste, and started strengthening the Tau for the
benefit of both. The Slann gained some more allies and the Tau gained
technology. Nothing else need to be changed.

  Opinions?
