Hi,

I too have just got back from Fantizan (I wish I'd known you were going Warren, we could have met up!) and had a good chat with Jervis. Apart from a debate over his assertion that before Epic 40,000 came along, there was no strategy or tactics involved in Epic and it was basically just a dice rolling exercise (I tried to put him straight, but he wouldn't have it) we had a good discussion about the new direction. It does seem that he is trying to put more variety into the vehicles again and, looking at the stats sheets for some of the vehicles, the game does seem to be a big advance on E40K. Vehicles are going back to having a variety of weapons fitted, with different strengths and ranges. I remain to be convinced that it will be better than SM/TL or Netepic, but if we nudge him in the right directions you never know :-)

Graham

  Hi all,

just to let you know that today I attended a wargames show in England called Fantizan. Jarvis Johnson was there play testing some of the new rules to Epic Armageddon. He is very keen to hear from us as individuals and as a group with any thoughts on the proposed rules or things that we would like. I did say that we may put ideas forward as a Group, via Peter and he appeared very keen both to hear positive and negative feed back on the possible game changes, he did say that negative feed back rarely reaches him as most people do not post it to GW. Anyway I believe that he wants to hear what we think as a group and may listen to us.

The proposed new edition will have more fluff and bigger army definitions, like a page per vehicle so that individual vehicle types could be separated,

He also gave up that Tau would be the next army out for Epic as DE is consider too small and just a raiding force or pirates.

On that theme, Forge World have made Tau in Epic resign, they are beautiful, but too expensive to produce. It would work out at about 2.50sterling for one base of 5 infantry, but the figures are fantastic. Hopefully I will have some digicam shots sent to me from a guy who just happened to be there taking photos when I was talking to the FW crowd, fingers crossed.(Peter I will send these direct to you if you send me your e-mail as I do not know how big the file will be, but they will be worth it).

What I got overall is the Epic is breathing and waiting to kick back into life, as far as fanatics is concerned.

  Cheers

  Warren
