then you are just making the titan immune to infantry again....

Imerator titans are immune to infantry - this makes sense... they are
just too big to be hurt by anything that an infantry squad can carry.
Period.

other titans are not. they should have to protect themselves...

the "only attackable by 6 stands" option is probably the best
compromise. Personally, I don't think it makes a huge amount of
sense... but it makes a player who wants to swarm a titan have to
commit expensive troops to the endevour, which means that it can
still be done, but it's more risky. Which is far better then
impossible.
