1) the stand does not "see" as well as you do; it hasn't got the benefit of God's perspective and smokeless + dustless + explosion-free battlefield with perfect conditions.

2) in Real Life(TM) shooting just doesn't go like it does in Net Epic (Okay men, if we can just remove one more stand we can get a LOS to the medic behind it and use our remaining attack die to frag it because it will be a legal target). In real life he would just be shooting at the platoon in his sights.
