RE: [NetEpic ML] Poll interpretations

Hi!

That’s why I like that "two rule" approach. One has to be realistic; Net
Epic is, at its heart, a set of house rules for a very large group of
people. Voting for core or not is more an issue of easy editing than
"dogma". I have been around enough Net Epic players to realize I can
recite the rules in Latin and demand strict adherence, but people will
use whatever they want to use. So I have a very "lax" approach towards
the rules as they are using them more as guidelines than hard core
rulings. That’s why I always insist on choices rather than put up one
choice over all others and expect everyone to use it. I know sometimes I
get e-mails saying "what's up, we voted and "x" alternative got
majority, I demand it be the only ruling!" Sure they are less common
than they used to be, but it's natural for people to have ONE core rule
with no competitors. That however is unrealistic given what type of
players this project attracts. Let's face it, if you're the type of
player who plays a game right out of the box without EVER changing
things, you are probably not reading this right now.

The other side of Net Epic is support. We try to be what GW wasn't for
this game. We talk about it, play it, make new rules for it and create
things for it. That’s important, as a game without these things tends to
wither and fade away. I believe people on this list demand support in
these ways and it's an important part to their enjoyment of the game.
That may be why there are people who rarely play, but still participate
on the list.

Just ask you're self one question. Who EVER thought we'd STILL be here
more than 5 years after it begun?

Heck we have had more longevity than some GW games. Not bad for
amateurs....

Peter

Í think it will rather be notified which rules are new. New rules that
are
voted as core will be just that, core parts of NetEpic.

Of couse, people are free to use anything they like :)

I've used the transport rules we just voted for for ages *smiles*
