On a "logical" side.
Wouldn't the Tau adapt to their enemies when ALL
other (well except squats, but they have more then enough praetorans to
compensate) opponents have titans?
Actually, I don't agree. I think the Tau would most likely create
knight-sized units with Titan-busting weapons to deal with the threat of
Titans. The Tau way of war is not dissimilar to the Eldar in that
they strike rapidly with maximum force and fade away. I feel they
would see Titans as huge, lumbering monstrosities that just don't fit
with their way of war and would come up with something heavily armed, yet
small, swift and hard-to-hit (relatively speaking). I think at most
they would create something similar to the Eldar Revenant.
I think it would be logical and
efficient to make a "larger" battlesuit
to deal with the opponents titans. Besides a flying praetorian is far
more vulnerable than a land bound titan sized unit.
Well, in actual fact its a starship. Only the Tau use an
interstellar vessel as a direct battlefield weapon. Besides, the
shields on a Manta are supposed to be superior to those on a Warlord
Titan according to the fluff. And a flying praetorian more
vulnerable than a 200ft tall walking machine? At least the flying
thing can fly away from the battlefield quickly. The 200ft machine
has to lumber off much more slowly.... ;-)
Besides, the plastic battlesuit is
worth 20 bucks and the right size for
a titan for the Tau.... ;-)
Ah. NOW I see why you want to use them Peter.... ;-) Sure,
that works, but I think they look a little disproportionate for Epic
scale (those ankles are sooooo thin and breakable). Also there are
so many anime mecha kits around now it would be easy to make something
smaller that's also easy on the wallet.
